Cult classic Dr Who is returning seven years after last screening on New Zealand television.
Prime will re-rum the show about the intergalactic time-traveller from the first series.
The BBC produced the programme between 1963 and 1989, with no fewer than seven actors in the title role, starting with William Hartnell and ending with Sylvester McCoy.
Prime has bought 180 episodes and will begin screening them next month on weeknights at 6.25.
Prince is hoping that, like the Doctor's time- travelling transporter, the Tardis, its latest programming act will carry a new audience to the channel seeking some alternative viewing.
Programmer Maureen Sinton says Dr Who is a series which has stayed in viewers' memories and fans have long been calling for its return.
"Not only are there thousands of ardent Dr Who fans out there who will love the return of the programme, but a whole new generation will have the chance to see it — and love it."
