[edit]

August 1 marks the Pittsburgh debut of Peter Davison as Doctor Who. Davison is probably best-known for his portrayal of Tristan, the young veterinarian surgeon in PBS' "All Creatures Great and Small." At 30, he is the youngest Doctor in the series' history. And, having been a DOCTOR WHO fan for 18 years, he is able to analyze the characters of his predecessors and give his Doctor a new and refreshing approach. Join him and his friends as they travel through time and space sorting out galactic problems and battling monsters in the name of justice and truth.

Other sci-fi news: DOCTOR WHO with Tom Baker airs weeknights at 11 p.m., beginning August 3. And, BLAKE'S 7, a very popular BBC series, is on QEX/16 Saturday nights at 11, with repeats Sundays at 5. Blake and his group of outcasts oppose the Federation whenever possible and their fates are always in doubt. It's a space opera with nail-biting suspense and edge-of-the-seat excitement.

Peter Davison plays DOCTOR WHO, beginning Aug. 11
