PETER CAPALDI has made his debut in Doctor Who with Deep Breath and what better way to further establish a new Doctor than to pit him against his old enemy – the Daleks.
The BBC has released 12 new pictures from the second episode of series eight and a teaser trailer.
The next episode, as well as starring the Daleks, also features Zawe Ashton from Fresh Meat and Michael Smiley from Luther and Utopia.
Critics were divided in their opinion on the first episode of the new series. The Independent on Sunday's Neela Debnath said Capaldi had emerged "brash, furious and very, very Scottish" but that the script was "suitably darker and more mature".
Phil Hogan of The Observer said the new Doctor had not quite been able to "stamp his personality on things".
The reviewer said he had been left disappointed after the exciting build-up and believing the new Doctor he will have to "get his brains in shape" for this week's episode.
