Chilling Adventures of Sabrina's devilish star Michelle Gomez, 52, dishes on season 2 of her Netflix hit (launching April 5).

YOU KNOW THE old saying: Behind every great Satan is a great Madam... or something like that. On Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina—which follows half mortal, half witch Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) as she explores a life of magic—the witches and warlocks of the Church of Night worship the Dark Lord, but it's Madam Satan (Michelle Gomez) who serves as his (heeled) boots on the ground, spending her days doing the Dark Lord's bidding. In the series' freshman season, Madam Satan completed her mission to get Sabrina to sign the Book of the Beast (thereby pledging her allegiance to the Dark Lord). And along the way, Gomez, who's best known for playing Missy on BBC's Doctor Who, won audiences over with her deliciously evil do-bad-der. "She's fabulous, isn't she?" Gomez says with a wicked grin. "She's like the best frenemy a girl could ever have." And a "frenemy" is exactly what Madam Satan is to Sabrina. "I think she intrigues Sabrina. There's a genuine fondness between the two of them;' Gomez says. "But I'm not sure it's going to end well for one of them." As for what season 2 (or as Netflix is dubbing it, part 2) holds for her character, Gomez says it's time for a backstory. "We find out why she's bad," she says. But that's not to say she'll stop being evil. In fact, the opposite might be true. As Gomez puts it, "[I enjoy] just being thoroughly bad. This face clearly was born to play witches and bitches until the day I die."
