ROYAL bride-to-be Sarah Ferguson tamed a Dalek last night.
Instead of threatening to exterminate her, the Dr Who menace was almost lost for words when they were introduced during a charity auction at Christie's in London.
She told the Dalek, which was expected to fetch £3,000 in aid for the Sudan, "I hope you are going to raise lots of money."
Quite overcome, it could only splutter in reply, "I hope so."
Mrs. Thatcher, Opposition leader Neil Kinnock, Liberal leader David Steel and a host of celebrities and stars had given a total of 200 items after an appeal launched jointly by the BBC Women's Hour programme aid the Red Cross. They hoped to raise £50,000.
