SUPERSLEUTH Sherlock Holmes is about to take over our screens.
Ha will appear at every age from 16 onwards, in every kind of adventure from a childish romp to an international political mystery.
The reason? The work of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of the great detective, comes out of copyright next year, and a free-for- all is expected.
Granada TV are among the first in the field. Their nine-part series, Young Sherlock starts early next year.
DOG
It is set in a Northern country district when young Sherlock returns home from boarding school term, hoping to see his financier father and scholarly mother.
Instead, he is driven from the door by a man with a dog, Granada's second series based on the Conan Doyle stories, will be made later in the year.
Already speculation is running high as to who will get the plum role of Holmes in the adult version.
The BBC have already made up their mind, as The Sun's World Of Telly told you two months ago.
They have signed Dr Who star Tom Baker as Holmes for the story The Hound Of The Baskervilles.
