Star lineup for Dr Who gala

FANS of Dr Who past and present had a chance to meet the stars of the famous cult sci-fi series during a special convention at a Belfast hotel.
Actors from the original series joined the newest members of the Dr Who line-up appearing in the current series at the Genesis event, hosted at the Park Avenue Hotel.
Actors Colin Baker, who appeared in the original BBC show as the sixth Dr Who, was joined by another veteran of the classic first series, Louise Jameson, who acted as Leela, as assistant to Dr Who when he was played by Tom Baker.
Actress Annette Badland, who has appeared in the new face of Dr Who as the villain Slitheen was also in town to autograph memorabilia.
Actor Paul Mark Davis, whose Dr Who character is set to appear on our television screens in two weeks' time, also made up the star line-up.
Organised by sci-fi event company UT-Events, one of the founders Thomas Needham said people of all ages turned up, some in costumes, to meet their heroes and heroines from the cult show
"It's been well attended with children and younger people who watch the new series, right up the older generation more famililar with the first original series have all been here today," he said.
The day's highlights included question and answer sessions with the stars of the show, autograph and photograph sessions and a charity auction of the show's props, like a Cyberman head used in the original series.
