A-listers bill fans for signature

MEGABUCKS film stars Michael J. Fox and Sigourney Weaver are charging their UK fans £400 for a chat and a signature.

They are among a host of movie legends happy to sign their names at a film and comic convention - as long as Brits cough up.

Weaver, 65, was joined by Aliens co-star Bill Paxton, Back to the Future star Michael and Harry Potter sorcerer Michael Gambon at the three-day London Film and Comic Con.

Her basic autograph fee was £95 but fans who handed over £395 could have a chat with her and take photos.

Fox, 54, inset below, charged £95 for fans to be snapped with him in the famous DeLorean time-travelling motor and £445 for a full package of photo opportunities and gifts. Paxton, 60, was charging £45 for a single signature and £195 for a VIP package of autographs and snaps. Gambon, 74, was asking £45 for his autograph and £175 for his VIP deal. And Back to the Future's mad inventor Christopher Lloyd, 76, asked £35 for an autograph or a picture and £140 for a VIP package.

By comparison, Dr Who's sidekick Catherine Tate, 47, wanted just £25 for a signature and £25 for a picture.

And fans on a budget could bag the signature of former Dr Who Sylvester McCoy, 71, whose fee was just £15 per autograph. Thrifty fans desperate for an autograph could have snapped up genuine signed photos on eBay for between £20 and £30. The prices come on top of the £40 entry fee — but fans don't seem to have been put off.

A source said: "Sigourney and Michael are hugely popular and no one expects them to donate their time for free. But they are certainly not shy about what they ask for from the fans."
