WORTHING'S number one Dr Who fan has hit out al plans to phase out the Tardis from the popular IV series.
Steven Welch, 14, says: "If it is true I think it is the worst mistake they could make."
The producers of Dr Who say they hose no immediate plans to phase out the doctor's police box lime machine — but the idea Is being considered.
Steven, who lives in Southdown View Road, Worthing, says: "The police box has become the trademark of the show. 1 don't think they should muck around with things like that."
He says he might decide to start his own petition against the plan.
Steven built his own version of a Tardis in the back garden of his home to celebrate Dr Who's 10th anniversary last year.
The sixth Dr Who, taking over from Peter Davison, is actor Colin baker, former star of The Brothers.
