Actor manhandled by ghost
HE's grappled with monsters, Daleks and Cybermen with all the fearlessness befitting Dr Who. But Time Lord Sylvester McCoy didn't have his Tardis to hide in when he was spooked by a frightening supernatural experience that could have come straight out of a Dr Who script.
Sylvester, 45, believe he was manhandled b a ghost when he was appearing in She Stoops to Conquer at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry.
"I was talking to another actor in the bar when I felt someone's hand pressing down on my shoulder, said the eccentric actor.
"For a moment it was very frightening," he added. "When I realised it wasn't the other actor touching me I went rigid with fear."
Sylvester, the seventh Dr Who, believes he came into contact with the Belgrade ghost.
"I know the founder of the theatre was killed tragically in a car crash so 3t may have been him lurking around the place." A similar experience sent a shiver up his spine in Stratford East when he starred in So You Want To Be In Pictures. "Supernatural happenings obviously aren't confined to the Dr Who scripts," he laughed.
