[edit]

I have watched Doctor Who every Saturday night for years. You have changed it to noon Sundays, when I go to church. Church hours won't change. So, please move Doctor Who back to Saturday nights when students, daytime workers and churchgoers can enjoy it once again.

John Craig Minneapolis

Cindy Browne, KTCA's vice-president of broadcasting, explains: "We stopped airing Doctor Who on Saturday nights last March because the weekly viewership was so low we couldn't justify the high cost of acquiring the series. We decided to renew the series based on the many calls and letters we received from Doctor Who fans last summer. Over the years we've had many requests to broadcast the show at an earlier time, when younger family members could view. This seemed the perfect time to test the idea. We knew the program wasn't being viewed Saturday nights—how about during the day on the weekend? We already had a strong family/teen audience late Sunday mornings for Degrassi Junior High and Newton's Apple, so we decided to place Doctor Who immediately following at noon. If in the future we see that noon Sundays isn't working, we'll certainly think about a change. Thank you for writing to let us know it isn't working for you."
