Actor Colin Baker, who played the sixth Doctor Who in the BBC series, is the first confirmed guest for the Sunday of Sci-fi Scarborough
The event will be held at the Spa Complex on Saturday April 5 and Sunday April 6.
Event co-organiser Steve Dickinson To announce the fact that we have the sixth Doctor coming to Sci-Fi Scarborough is quite incredible.
"Colin is a brilliant guest and we're ecstatic that he has agreed to join us."
Four stars of Red Dwarf Chris Barrie, Craig Charles, Robert Llewelyn and Danny John Jules-will be at the convention on the Saturday.
Colin's television career, commencing with Sartre's Roads To Freedom, includes Cousin Belle, War and Peace in which he played Prince Anatol Kuragin, The Edwardians, A Fall Of Eagles, The Citadel, Swallows And Amazons Forever, The Famous Five, Hollyoaks, A Dance To The Music Of Time, The Bill, Sunburn, Casualty, Dangerfield, The Knock and as the Head of MI6 in The Waiting Game with the late John Thaw.
He is however principally known for very contrasting roles in two of the BBC's most popular programmes: The Brothers in which hewas universa lly loathed as Paul Merroney, the prototype yuppie and Doctor Who, in which he was universally loved as the flamboyant sixth incarnation of the Doctor.
His most recent television appearances have been in Doctors, Jonathan Creek and Hollyoaks.
