[edit]

Tom Ceballo, 25, had just finished a visit to Gillson Park beach with a friend on Aug. 3 when he stopped to talk to Pioneer Press. He's a Des Plaines native and a fan of the classic science fiction show "Doctor Who?'

Q: Where did you go to school and what did you like most about it?

A: Maine East High School (in Park Ridge). I guess I liked going home the most. Actually, I did like one class; I liked English, because I always liked writing. I still. do. I like working with the language, trying to keep it alive.

Q: What chore would you pay someone to avoid?

A: Dusting - it's like the worst thing to do. Or just taking care of my five dogs. They're all Chihuahuas and they're all obnoxious and I love them. Their names are Bonnie and Clyde, Spike, Butters and Violence.

Q: What's the best part of your day?

A: I know this sounds weak and lame, but it's whenever during the day that I talk to (points to his friend) her.

Q: Do you have a cause or thought that you'd like people to think about?

A: I feel like everyone's spending so much time on things that won't last forever, and definitely avoiding the things that can be awesome. I want to tell them to open up to the chance that things you might think are going to turn out terrible, could turn out to be awesome.

Q: And finally, as a "Doctor Who" fan, who is your favorite Doctor?

A: I don't want to sound cliche, but I like Matt Smith, who played the Eleventh Doctor. I liked David Tennant, who played the Tenth Doctor, but Matt just had this way about him that was amazing.
