BRIAN TAYLOR is Tyneside's own time lord.
Ever since the 28 year old typesetter was knee high to a Dalek, his greatest love has neen the BBCs cult sci fi television series, Dr Who.
And although the Beeb shelved the show three years ago, his fascination with the programme remains time less.
Unmarried Brian, of North Drive, Hebburn is the force behind one of Tyneside's two thriving Dr Who fan clubs.
His Group, Galaxy Four - named after a 1960s episode meets regularly at Jarrow Community Centre, and counts a wide cross-section of the community among its members.
"We meet on every second Sunday of the month and watch videos and run quizzes to show off our knowledge of the show."
Buying
Brian,. who says he has spent "hundreds, probably thousands of pounds" on his hobby over the years, admits that he is not as much of a fanatic as he was:
"I used to buy anything with the words Dr Who written on it. But about ten years ago I stopped and thought — what is this stuff I'm buying? And now I'm more selective.
He travels to Dr Who conventions around the country and has met two of the seven Doctors to have spanned three decades of the show. Peter Davison and Colin Baker.
Brien is adamant that he will not grow out of his hobby, and has joined in with fans all over the world in a letter-writIng campaign aimed at forcing the BBC to film a new series of the show.
His greatest ambition is to bring some of its stars north to Tyneside to celebrate the series' 30th anniversary next year.
Anyone wishing to join Galaxy Four should contact Brian Taylor via Jarrow Community Centre
