[edit]

STEVEN Spielberg's plans for a blockbusting revamp of the BBC hero Dr Who have failed because the American TV networks are not interested in the Timelord.

The £3 million pilot series was rejected by Fox TV executives who said the programme didn't have any mainstream appeal and would just be a cult show.

Spielberg planned to bring Dr Who into the Nineties with astonishing special effects.
