[edit]

The Doctor Who story that has just finished (Paradise Towers, 5-26 October BBC1) has been one of the best for years. A superb script, wonderful characters, great acting, direction and sets, have all combined to produce the most original story seen in a very long time. If anything like this standard can be maintained then the series is well worth keeping. Perhaps with Sylvester McCoy as the Doctor we will see a return to the great days of Doctor Who.

Whimsical

With a succession of 'wet' Doctors - Peter Davison to Sylvester McCoy might I suggest that the title be changed from Doctor Who to 'Doctor Whimsical' ...

There have been some memorable Doctors, from William Hartnell right through to Tom Baker, but I am now placed in the perplexing position of rooting for the monsters and associated nasties against both the Doctor and his assistant Bonnie Langford.

Then there was Ken Dodd. Will there be a spin-off series - 'Ken Dodd and his Diddymen against the Daleks'? . .
