HEAVENS above ! The new Dr. Who really IS out of this world.
And if you think actor Colin Baker's multi-. coloured outfit is the height of bad taste. the makers of the hit TV series will be delighted.
Producer John Nathan - Turner asked the BBC's costume department to come up with the most tasteless togs they could find.
"I think they've achieved it. This outfit is totally tasteless," said John yesterday as Colin materialised for the first time in his multicoloured drape jacket, yellow and black striped trousers and tweedy waistcoat with long tails.
The gaudy get-up is rounded off with a sloppy polka-dot how-tie and green shoes with red spats.
Colin, who takes over the role from Peter Davison in March, is delighted with the new look.
Alien
He said: "The Doctor is not a human so he doesn't follow human trends or characteristics.
"In fact, the new Doctor will be more alien than his predecessors.
