Leela joins space doc

Say good morning to Dr Who's new travelling companion in space.

The "Superwoman" is Louise Jameson, who for the last two sears has worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Louise is a statuesque 5ft 6in brunette with blue eyes. But for the TV series she will become Leela, a strong-arm woman from a distant planet—with brown eyes and a tanned skin.

She takes user from Elisabeth Sladen, who quit the series last week.

Louise will make her first appearance in the series in January.

"It's a marvellous part-- and sounds like so much fun." she said yesterday.
