I wish to protest most strongly about the quite ridiculous timing of some programmes on television. In particular I have in mind the screening of children's programme Dr Who at 7.35pm.
7.30pm is about the time when a person who has returned home from work is ready to settle in front of the TV screen. He, or she, feels the need for something of topical interest, items, discussion and news of how the stock market has performed during the day.
The kiddies of appropriate age for Dr Who have surely had all day for viewing, and should not be allowed to encroach on a mature person's few hours. To allow this is sheer over-indulgence and should be stopped.
Dr Who would best be shown during an up-dated slot of Watch With Mother and so help to stop the present trend of toddlers going to bed far too late. — R. W. Clark
