Two of the regular time travellers in the B.B.C. science fiction series. "Dr. Who" are leaving the cast.

Actress Jacqueline Hill — who plays Barbara — and actor William Russell — who plays Ian — will come down to earth on [[broadwcast:The Savages|June 4]].

Both have asked to leave the series after 18 months in the TV time machine.

Now the scriptwriters are deciding how to write them out — and it may mean the return of the Dalek monsters.

"I think we will go out in a blaze of glory." said 32-year-old Miss Hill yesterday. "We may capture a spaceship From the Daleks and fly back to earth.

"It has been great fun in 'Dr. Who' — but we can't go on forever. I want to return to the stage!"

Mr. Russell said : "I want to do comedy in the live theatre. I think It would be a bit indulgent to stay any longer with 'Dr. Who.'"
