GREAT skill and careful planning is important in theatre if an actor is be convincing when playing the dual role of twin brothers

In this, Colin Baker is superb in the lead role(s) of Corpse, which is showing at the Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton.

He plays both Farrants — the down-and-out Evelyn, who is plotting to murder his wealthy twin, and twin Rupert.

Evelyn calls on the expertise of One Shot Wally McGee, a wily character, stylishly played by Jack Watling to kill Rupert.

The plot is laid as Baker shows off his culinary ability by cooking — and eating — a Russian pancake on stage It smelled delicious.

The plan starts to collapse (or does it?) and both brothers get caught in the crossfire

The contrast between the twins is further reinforced by Alan Tagg's magnificent back-to-back revolving set,

Half is Evelyn's dingy cellar flat. This turns to show Rupert's ritzy penthouse suite.

Colin Baker turns in a brilliantly convincing performance.

He and Jack Watling play out a realistic duel, the timing reflecting the precision of this show, which runs until tomorrow (Saturday)
