DENNIS SPOONER, creator and writer of television series such as Department S, Jason King, The Champions, and Randall and Hopkirk - Deceased, died ten days ago on Saturday September 20 of a heart attack.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
He began his career in Ralph Reader's Gang Shows, became a stand-up comic and then a gag-writer. As well as contributing to long series such as The Avengers and Dr Who, he had written several stage plays in collaboration with Brian Clemens, most notably A Sting in the Tale, Anybody for Murder and Will You Still Love Me In The Morning?&lt;br /&gt;
