FANS of TV sci-fi hero Dr Who continue to celebrate the BBC programme's 29th anniversary with a series of events in Canterbury next week.

They also mark the launch of a new Dr Who comic and the re-run of a classic version of the series on BBC TV with an exhibition and book signing at Siegi's Comics, Orange Street

Cybermen, Daleks and other characters will be on hand on Saturday, November 21.

They will be joined by actress Lalla Ward, who played one of the doctor's companions, Romana 11, and was for a time married to Dr Who actor Tom Baker.

Lalla will sign Dr Who books at the comic shop from 2pm to 4pm but organisers say there will be other events throughout the day.

From Monday, Siegi's will organise a series of events and promotions, including competitions and give-aways.

Visitors will be able to see costumes used in the show together with props and models.

A classic story from the series, [[broadwcast:The Daemons|The Demons]] starring Jon Pertwee, will be re-shown on BBC 2 from Thursday.

Dozens of Dr Who fans are expected at the University this weekend for a two-day convention attended by actors Tom Baker and Colin Baker and backroom staff from the series.
