IT'S out of this world... the perfect car to beat the rush hour.

It's had just two previous owners, is quite nippy - and exterminates traffic wardens!

Second-hand car dealer Lee Morgan is always a space invader when he's out driving his Car-lek - a Dalek on wheels! Built on the chassis of an ordinary Mini, the customised two-seater vehicle is made from tinted perspex to resemble Dr Who's most hated foe.

It stands almost 8ft high, and towers over the rest of the traffic. A special loudspeaker allows the driver to sound just like one of the evil robots, and plays the Dr Who theme tune to passers-by as it speeds past.

Lee, 25, said: "People are amazed when I drive past them in a Dalek. They can't believe it. It's so easy to drive, and can do about 60mph."

The Car-lek takes pride of place on the forecourt of Car World's showroom in Hull, but it's not for sale.

The company's manager, Andy Wright, said: "It attracts so much attention when it's out on the road. It blows people's minds when they see it driving down the street.

"We have a lot of offers from people who want to buy it but we always turn them down. We couldn't bear to sell it."

Another star feature of the Car-lek is that it can beat parking fines.

Lee added: "Once we left it near the shop on a double yellow line. The traffic warden was so busy laughing, he forgot to give it a ticket!"
