I write on behalf of Mr and Mrs Stone of Gillingham, Kent.<br />

Do you remember Dr Who and the Daleks? I found the Daleks more terrifying than any other creatures, even the dreaded Cybermen. You may not recall but the Daleks were made of a disgusting black, jellylike gunk, albeit generally hidden by their polished silver exteriors.<br />
<br />
When your company, installed a new central heating system at the Stones' home, a Dalek-like substance escaped from the old system and spilled its alien guts across their bedroom carpet and quilt. It is a horrific and unsightly mess.<br />
<br />
I don't know about you but I wouldn't like to go to sleep with the remains of a dead extraterrestrial. I would suggest that you call Dr Who immediately (he tends to hang around outside a telephone box) or alternatively agree to pay for the Stones to hire the services of another timelord-cum-cleaning contractor.<br />
