Daleks' fave word is banned by Beeb

THE Daleks have been banned from squawking "exterminate" in the new series of Doctor Who.

BBC chiefs have deemed the aliens' catchphrase too cheesy for modern audiences, The Sun can reveal.

A Beeb insider confirmed last night: "Doctor Who fans may be upset.

"But although the word may have scared kiddies in 1963, today it would be laughed off screen." The ban comes after the timelord's arch-enemies almost failed to appear at all in the 13-part series to be screened next year. They were reinstated after a [[Exterminated! (The Sun)|Sun campaign]] — and we can exclusively reveal that the creatures will appear in three of the new episodes. But not once do they utter "exterminate" to new Doctor Christopher Eccleston and sidekick Rose Tyler, played by Billie Piper.

The source said: "The Daleks, right, have said 'exterminate' for more than 40 years but it never did them any good. The Doctor always won in the end."

Tim Hancock, agent for the estate of Daleks creator Terry Nation, said: "There are three scripts in the new series of Doctor Who that will feature the Daleks."

A BBC spokesman said: "We will not comment on Doctor Who storylines."
