Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor spent a fair amount of time at the start of this series essentially explaining the concept of the show to new viewers. But he could have done it in six words: time traveller who runs through corridors. Tonight, though, he is uncharacteristically immobile. He's just stepped on a landmine on an alien battlefield...On script duties is Steven Moffat, the one-time showrunner who also wrote fan-favourite episodes Blink and The Empty Child.
