And BBC children's television is not almost wholly middle class, as "Children's Hour" was wont to be. What seems to be needed is more daring, more ambition a more coherent intention. The medium is compulsive. With "Dr Who" the BBC has shown the power of compulsive nonsense. What about the power of compulsive sense?
