Drama student Nicola Bryant has hit the big time in her first shot -- stepping straight out of college into the part of Dr. Who's new assistant.
Nicola, 21, who makes her first appearance with actor Peter Davison in tonight's episode Planet of Fire, is the Doctor's 25th assistant since he began his travels in time and space on BBC TV 20 years ago.
Born in Surrey, but with dual British and U.S. Nationality, Nicola will be keeping a sharp look-out for the Doctor's arch-enemies: "When I was a child, I was petrified of the Daleks," she confessed yesterday.
