I feel sure the current Doctor (Doctor Who, Saturdays BBC1) is the first to wear glasses. There is something about this that doesn't quite add up. The Doctor has access to technology that makes our own look like second-hand Lego. Surely this Time Lord technology could correct his vision in a flash? George Preston, Southampton
Possibly, but David Tennant isn't the first spectacled Doctor: William Hartnell wore glasses on occasion, as did Peter Davison (pictured).
