JON PERTWEE returns as "Dr Who" for a new series on BBC 1 (tonight at 5.10) beginning with "The Time Warrior," a four-part story by Robert Holmes.
Dr Who it joined by now companion, Sarah Jane Smith, a bright young journalist played by Elizabeth Sladen (right).
A space ship crashes in the savage barbaric England of the Middle Ages. It is piloted by Commander Linx, whose race, the Sontarans, have been waging intergalactic war for thousands of years.
To repair his ship, Linx strikes up an alliance with Irongron, a local brigand, and manufactures modern weapons for him.
