Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Collection by various authors (Penguin)

Originally published as an e-book, this collection of 11 stories is written by 11 of the most exciting children's writers in Britain, including Patrick Ness, Marcus Sedgwick, Neil Gaiman, Malorie Blackman and Philip Reeve. Each takes an incarnation of the Time Lord and his assistant and encapsulates the character in the Doctor Who canon. Derek Landy has terrific fun with number 10 - played by David Tennant - and Martha, as they find themselves locked into a children's story. But whoever your favourite Doctor is, you'll find this a great read and there's plenty of action for the female assistants, too. - Daily Mail
