AFTER travelling through time and space to all corners of the known and unknown universe, the latest location for TV's Doctor Who to land his Tardis is a little closer to home.
The famous blue phone box will bring the Doctor to Bournemouth on May 22-23 for a convention to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his first show. Colin Baker - the sixth actor to play the much-loved Time Lord - will join around 200 fans at the Forte Posthouse hotel at The Lansdowne.
Fan, Tracey Edwards, 26, has helped organise the event over the last 18 months.
"We are hoping to set up a club for Doctor Who fanatics after the convention," she said.
She has arranged visits from the Doctor's old enemies, the Daleks and Cybermen, as well as actress Elisabeth Sladen - who played Sarah-Jane Smith, the Doctor's assistant, in the 1970s - and ex-Avenger Honor Blackman, who appeared in an episode with Colin Baker.
There will also be technical demonstrations and workshops, and cash raised will help the Institute for the Study into Infant Death.
Details and tickets are available from Blue Box, 15 Martock Road, Kevnsham, Bristol
