As much as I love Peter Capaldi in Doctor Who (BBC1), I disagree with him about a male companion ([Peter's friends|RT, 19 December]]). They could play it for laughs - have them charging into danger, and get some witty banter out of it ("Sit tight, old man, I got this!"... "Don't you 'old man' me, sonny boy!"). I know everything is tricky business in the Whoniverse, but please, don't be so quick to dismiss the idea of a male companion.
