A make-up artist fixes Matt's wig yesterday MATT Smith, famed for his mop of hair, had to resort to wearing a wig yesterday while filming the Doctor Who Christmas special.
The Time Lord actor needed help from the BBC1 makeup department after having his locks chopped for another role.
While his character can jump between the years in the hit science fiction drama, clearly he did not have enough time to grow back his trademark combover.
Matt was spotted on the set in Cardiff with a makeup assistant appearing to apply glue to reposition the special hairpiece modelled on his own signature floppy locks.
The 30-year old had shaved his head for his role in Ryan Gosling's directorial debut movie, How To Catch A Monster. The Hollywood production is a sci-fi film noir and Matt, in his big break in America, plays the eccentric character of Bully.
He has just two episodes left as the Doctor before he hands the controls of the Tardis to Peter Capaldi, 55 – the 12th Doctor – at Christmas.
Matt's penultimate outing as Who in November is a 50th anniversary special that will see David Tennant and Billie Piper return to star alongside the Time Lord and his assistant Clara Oswald, played by Jenna- Louise Coleman.
Writer Steven Moffat promises that the festive finale will tie together the remaining story strands from the era of the 11th Doctor.
