The up and down life of the Yo-Yo is back and booming again.

For Merseyside middle fingers are getting hooked onto the craze that is sweeping the country.

It has certainly bounced right back again. We ere getting more orders every day," said a spokesman for Hobbies, the Liverpool toyshop.

"The response so far has been amazing, everyone wants a Yo-Yo again," said a spokesman for Louis Marx Ltd., the Swansea-based manufacturers of the toy.

"We anticipated there would be some demand this year, but nothing as big as this," he added.

"It's always had its ups and downs since it was first introduced by us into this country in 1932.

"The craze was colossal in the Thirties and Fifties, and it looks as if it is going to be that big again." he said.

"The big ninety-niners are the particular favourites at the moment, although we do have one with a picture of the Osmonds pop group that is going like hot-cakes," said the spokesman.

The latest model to hit the shops will be the Dr. Who Special.

"Tom Baker, who plays Doctor Who in the B.B.C. series, always pulls out a YoYo when he has a tricky problem to solve in the series," explained the spokesman.

Merseyside Yo-Yo experts will have the chance to win big money prizes when the heats of the world Yo-Yo Championship are held later this year.

In the picture, pretty 23-years-old Irene Bradley, from St. Helens, tries out the Yo-Yo.
