TIME LADY JODIE'S TOPLESS SHOCKER
DOCTOR Who will be played by a woman for the first time in the show's 54-year history.
And fans of the series will be shocked to discover Jodie Whittaker has already made her mark in a topless role.
Broadchurch star Jodie will take over from current Time Lord Peter Capaldi in the Christmas special.
The news was met with a mixed reaction from fans. Some hated the idea and moaned: "We'll be seeing bras scattered all over the Tardis."
But others cheered: "Finally we get Girl Power."
Last night Jodie told the critics: "I want to tell the fans not to be scared by my gender.
"This is a really exciting time.
"Doctor Who represents everything that's exciting about change. The fans have lived through so many changes, and this is only a new, different one, not a fearful one."
She added: "It's very nerve-racking but I can't wait."
Movie fans have seen Jodie strip off in the 2006 Peter O'Toole film Venus.
She was a nude model at an art class in the comedy drama. Jodie also played Beth Latimer in ITV drama Broadchurch.
New Doctor Who boss Chris Chibnall said: "I always knew I wanted the 13th Doctor to be a woman and we're thrilled to have secured our number one choice." Mum-of-one Jodie was unveiled as the new Doctor in a clip yesterday on BBC One after the Wimbledon Men's Final.
Star Capaldi said: "She's going to be a fantastic Doctor"
