Dreamtime adventure
SEVENTEEN storylines for Doctor Who In Australia episodes have been sent In to Green Guide: lively, original. imaginative, colorful and, In some cases, bloodthirsty and violent. During the next few weeks we will publish, some of the ideas.
This is the outline which was sent In by 16-year-old Lucy Townsend of Tocumwal:
"Dr Who, Tegan and the Tardis are stranded somewhere near Ayers Rock. They're not in the 20th century, but somewhere In the Aboriginal, Dreamtime. They go to toes around outside but find the Tardis is surrounded by Aborigines (with war-point spears, &c.). They are taken to the chief of the tribe and held prisoner.
"While they are being held, the doctor learns that the tribe is being threatened by something and Ibis something has been killing them. An Aboriginal boy who is trying to help tells the doctor that the Legend of the Serpent has come back to haunt the tribe. Doctor Who and Tegan escape and try to save the tribe."
TWO life-sized cardboard Daleks, the major prizes in our Doctor Who Scrambled Titles competition, have been won by two 12-year-olds: Jane Prior of Healesville and Simon Mcctenahan of St Kilda.
Fifty other entrants will receive a Letter entitling them to collect a Doe. for Who book from the Space Age Bookshop In Swanton Street.
The competition proved to be very popular. We were inundated with entries, about 100 of them. Absolutely everyone got all the answers right, even though the questions were a little wrong. Country renders had an equal Chance with their city friends.
With the entries, from as far away as Shepparton, Wangaratta and War-racknabeal, came some interesting letters, including one from Stephen Tully of East Doncaster, who wrote to say that he hod done the competition with his left hand, because his right arm was broken.
In the end, It was a mailer of luck. So here is the list of 50 lucky names drawn from a barrel:
