TOM Baker, who played nice "Dr Who" on TV, is to become one of fiction's most infamous characters — Long John Silver.

Baker, 46, will play the pirate in a new Christmas version of Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson at London's Mermaid Theatre.
