LOVELY Janet Fielding is just what the Doctor ordered.
She was chosen from more than 100 hopefuls to be Dr Who's new assistant, Tegan.
Janet, a 23-year-old Australian actress, came to Britain two years ago to try her luck.
In the new series, which takes off early next year with Peter Davison in the title role, Janet has to wear an out-of-this-world purple and silver space costume.
"I really love it," she says. "It's nice being a bit zany.
"I was delighted to get the role because was weaned on Dr Who at home in Brisbane.
"I grew up respecting the Doctor."
