THE WOMAN who launched Dr. Who and other top TV series like Rock Follies and Rumpole of the Bailey was yesterday named Businesswoman of the Year.
Verity Lambert, 46, former secretary turned TV producer, is now British film mogul of the moment as EMI production director.
"Women still have to be exceptional to get on," she said after receiving her award in London.
But she added : "For me the secret of success is that I am a perfectionist".
Miss Lambert is also director of Thames TV and chief executive of Euston Films. Her latest, project, a six-park TV series called Widows, begins tomorrow.
