DR. WHO is battling the dreaded Daleks all over the Middle East—and in Arabic, too.

The B B C-T V children's series is one of several top British television programmes which have been dubbed into Arabic for sale overseas. The other programmes include Maigret, Oliver Twist, and Vendetta, the hard-hitting anti-Mafia series.

These programmes have also been dubbed into Spanish—for sale to Latin American countries.

In fact, B B C television shows can be seen all round the world.

Australia bought the most-1,225 programmes in the year ended last March a BBC spokesman reported last night.

Zambia came second with 798 programmes, and Canada was third with 701 This is a record for sales to Canada.

In Europe, biggest buyers were the Republic of Ireland (322), West Germany (200) and Holland (189).

Sales to the rest of the world thanks to the Arabic and Spanish dubbings were doubled.
