Unknown Australian actress Janet Fielding is to become the new girl in the life of television's Dr. Who.
Janet (23), who is from Brisbane but now living in Putney, London, takes over from Lalla Ward, and makes her first appearance in the last programme of the current series in March.
Janet was unveiled as Dr. Who's new girl today having won the part from more than 100 hopefuls who auditioned for do popular series.
She will play Tegan, an attractive and intelligent Anstralian trainee air stewardess who gets caught up with Dr. Who on the way to her first flight.
Her only other television appearance was a bit part in the Hammer horror series now running.
