The University of Tampa looked like a home for wayward outer space aliens this weekend as more than 2,000 local fans of Dr. Who turned out for Tampa's first Whovian convention.
The event, which celebrates the popular British science fiction TV series, continues today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at McKay Auditorium. Tickets are $10 and $15 at the door.
Included were costume contests, screenings of Dr. Who episodes and a question-and-answer session with actor John Pertwee, a former Dr. Who: Lis Sladen, a former Dr. Who sidekick; and John Nathan-Turner, the current producer of Dr. Who.
Spelling correction: Jon Pertwee
