A LONDONDERRY woman talked yesterday about the sentimental day that a long-lost relative Dr Who-turned up in her Waterside living-room.
Scottish actor David Tennant, whose sci-fi TV series recently won two Baftas, has been in Londonderry filming his contribution to a BBC series called Who Do You Think You Are? in which he traces his family roots, which resulted in the Dr Who actor dropping into the Rossdowney home of Betty Hutchman.
David Tennant, whose Scottish grandfather Archie McCleod played football for Derry City FC in the 1930s and who married a Londonderry girl called Blair, is her cousin's son.
Mrs Hutchman said yesterday: "Helen McDonald is my cousin and David's mother, and the last time I saw him was 25 years ago at the family's manse in Scotland."
