TALKING to Michael Wilson the other day. about the numerous international musicians he represents here in Australia, I learned that English composer, Ron Grainer, was originally contracted to write the score for Peter Weir's award-winning movie, Gallipoli.
Sadly, Grainer died of cancer in January this year and Brian May took over the job.
Grainer is probably best remembered for such themes as Maigret, Steptoe and Son and Dr Who.
Another movie that Grainer had been aaked to score was the soon-to-be-released Killing of Angel Street.
