TOM BAKER, television's recently retired Dr Who, is finding his new role a bit of a burden to shoulder.
After years of fighting Daleks as telly's time-travelling Doctor, Baker is sick as a parrot over the behaviour of his feathered co-star in the London pantomime Treasure Island.
We hear that Baker, who plays Long John Silver, was attacked by the bird — and its manners have not always been impeccable.
It has played the parrot Jack Spratt for many years in the panto at London's Mermaid Theatre, and has sat happily on the shoulder of BERNARD MILES when he played Long John.

Baker has gallantly continued with the parrot, after his request for a stuffed substitute was refused.
He says : "I don't like parrots at the best of times. You can get some funny disease from them, can't you?"
