[edit]

FORGET Dr Who, because the Tardis that arrived at McVitie's in Billingham yesterday was packed full of teachers desperately trying to get free maths equipment for their schools! Teachers and pupils from Billingham South Primary School, Northfield Comprehensive, Billingham, St Helen's Primary, Hartlepool and Tilery Primary, Stockton, took part in the fun at the KP foods factory in the town.

They were joined by teachers and pupils from Keldholme School, Ormesby Primary and Linthorpe Primary School, all in Middlesbrough.

The teachers crowded into an inflatable tardis for two minutes and grabbed as many Maths Stuff For Schools tokens as they could, cheered on by pupils from the schools and employees at the factory.

The scheme is a national project which aims to provide millions of pounds worth of free maths equipment to schools throughout the country.

The schools were chosen when representatives from the factory pulled their names out of a hat.
