Doctor Who has so completely morphed into something dark and knowing and adult that the BBC has, after the success of The Sarah Jane Adventures, for the second time, spun it off into a bona-fide children's programme. Saturday morning's Doctor Who: Dreamland is an animated series that renders Tennant into a slightly arthritic version of the doctor. This is not helpful considering all the running from monsters he has to do. Dreamland looks like a computer game rather than something made by DreamWorks, but that won't matter to your seven-year-old.
