There's no arguing with a Cyberman for mere mortals, even titled ones. But the Marquess of Bath (left) needed no extra-terrestrial encouragement to sign a contract with Enterprises' managing director Bryon Parkin for a grand Dr Who Easter celebration at Longleat House in Wiltshire.
The two-day event on Easter Sunday and Monday marks the 20th anniversary of Dr Who this year. All the surviving Dr Whos and their 24 assistants have been invited and Bessie the Dr Who car will be on show along with studio sets from the programme plus viscid effects, costume and radiophonic workshop displays.
Dr Who products will be on sale, costumes from the series will be auctioned and Make-up department will be at work on visitor to add to the Who-mania.
There has already been a huge response to the event, and ticket applications are pouring into Enterprises by the sackful. Many thousands of fans are expected from all over Britain and America, where the programme following has reached cult proportions. There is great interest from BBC programme departments, and the
Ed Stewart show on Radio 2, produced by Stuart Hobday, will be broadcast live from Longleat on Easter Monday.
Tickets bought on the day are £4 for adults and £2 for children. There is no staff discount but tickets bought in advance are available at £1.50 per day (children £1.50) or £7 for both days (children £3).
Staff can get tickets from Janice Sinclair at Room 302 Bilton House. Tickets for the public are available from BBC Enterprises (X), PO Boo 35h, London W5 2YH.
